Those operating with high success rates in healing will also tell you
they can get you healed (in Jesus' Name of course), but
they cannot keep you healed. That is the responsibility of the person who has just received healing.
e.g. If a person is healed of emphysema and begins smoking again, they will not stay healed. I believe their comments are more focused on the person laying hands to not go into a counseling session - just get it done - for Jesus never counseled anyone.
You know you have received your healing as things were very good for a season. Can you receive healing again? Absolutely and you should seek it. But to "stay healed" we need to completely put our past behind us. If Christian counseling helps you achieve that, go for it.
For me, I focus intently on Jesus every single day and don't give my past the chance to pull me back. A while back, I wrote a note about what helps me stay clear of the past. The note is called "
Your Past is NOT Yours. Read it again and put the "techniques" into practice to help keep you focused on The Kingdom!
