This forum title "Help! My neighbor is a witch...." really made me laugh inside, because I have been there. I was a baby, baby Christian, not even a year under my belt. Our front doors faced each other, about 5 feet apart. She was some kind of leader; I am not that savvy on the hierarchy and terms of all that sort of thing.

The Lord used this experience to put spiritual hair on my chest. Although I hated the crucifying of my flesh at the time, I grew leaps & bounds in Jesus during those days and weeks. Oddly enough I had signed a new lease to move from my 1-br to a 2-br apartment, same building, just upstairs, before the "war" began.

She (I will call her M) had avoided me (my opinion only, just a feeling I had), but freely spoke to my not-Jesus Freak-thus-not-threatening neighbors openly. She told them of how the government used her power to know things supernaturally, had even paid her for her services. Her husband had a tyrannical spirit about him, and her child walked in fear and described vividly the "creatures" (demons) that lived in the field outside our apartment complex.

One day, as I came home from work, there she was, in the breezeway, speaking to my neighbor. My other neighbor had had a stray cat give birth to kittens on her porch, and did either one of us have a box to make a little safe spot for the momma & babies?

M's eyes fixed on me, and for the first time, and this has never happened since, something in my belly began to roll around. I quickly said that I had a box and I would be right back. Collected cat & kittens & retreated to safety of my apartment as I tried to decipher what just happened in my belly.

Still don't know what happened in my belly.

This began 2 weeks of the most intensive warfare I have ever had. I could not sleep and developed a bad cold. Manifestations of all kinds occurred. I turned to my Christian friends (one was a former witch) for help, but oddly enough, they blew me off; the Lord then sent different warriors to fight beside me. One brought his Bible, passed M on the steps to my apartment, she said to him, I see you have your bible, I have questions, can we talk? He just laughed and said not this time. His grandmother was a practicing witch, and he had served the Lord for decades and knew to focus on bringing aid to God's kid, at least this time anyway.

Once he started praying and reading scripture & going to war, M banged on my front door. He refused to open it to her and continued to read the Word & pray; I was somewhere between dazed and confused yet the Lord managed to get into me the basics of warfare during this season.

I told other believers from my church, who told others who lived closer to me; they came and prayed over me, and my apartment, even the breezeway. Demons were bold & haughty, and with the help of the Lord & patience of my friends, we prayed and took authority and off they went. One friend saw M from across the parking lot & felt M's radar scanning the immediate area for christians, so my friend took the "scenic route" (walked on grass instead of sidewalks).

One friend came over and as we prayed, she felt led to pray for me; she put her hands on my head and an assignment broke off my mind that was so powerful I felt it continue to leave me for quite awhile.

One friend called during this time; after hearing my situation, she told me to call the church prayer line, so I did. Normally it was an answering machine, but a man, a friend of mine, answered (divine intervention). I explained what was going on; he asked me to come over so he & the leader over the Singles group could pray for me. I went, and they prayed. He asked if I spoke in tongues? I said, well I have been prayed over for that but it hasn't happened. He said, do you have a syllable? I said Yes, "Ta." He said to say "Ta" over & over and eventually the tongue would flow. They broke fear off me. I went there covered in fear but came back free and full of the power of the authority of God.

It was during these days the Lord broke my heart for M and I began to love her and understand that Satan is using her as a puppet, and Jesus loves her very much and He died as much for M as He did for me. My prayers for her were birthed from brokenness for her condition. I prayed a lot for her son too.

A few days later as I packed for my move, I was singing a praise song, and my tongue switched from "Ta" to the supernatural flow of the gift of tongues. I didn't even realize it until the song was over.

I moved, and the next day, I flew to England on business. Many supernatural manifestations occurred on that trip.

I came back and found out that M had been beaten quite badly by her husband (she had broken one of their windows out). Also a bobcat had been reported prowling the stairwells. Had M manifested as a bobcat? No way to know, but I suspected. The more seasoned Christian warriors who had been to my apartment, and had met or seen her, had stated she was quite advanced (I don't even want to know what that means).

I never knew what happened to M but I promise you that she was a gift to me from God, to catapult me to new levels in my faith and Jesus.

I don't want to sound negative, but there seems a lot of fear in your post. Truly there is ZERO spiritual power satan, witches or the entire occult have over Christians. They are scared of what is in you ! The trouble is that we have been conned by poor preaching into believing a lie that they have power over us. When did that happen in the New Testament ? I can't find it. It simply isn't there. No spiritual warfare, just a bold proclamation of the gospel followed by demons being chucked out of people. Early church writings show that Christians regularly humiliated the demons that were claiming to be Roman God's. Paul didn't do 'spiritual warfare' in the way modern charismatics tend to. He boldly preached the gospel. If someone manifested a spirit, he told them to shut up in the name of Jesus. If they wanted deliverance he cast the demon out. Where was his fear of satan ? I can't find it.

satan can and does use people to persecute us, but as for direct spiritual power over us, no chance. If its not in my Bible, and Jesus didn't do it, then its bad theology. If I get a witch coming to me, they can come in for a praise and worship session and the gospel. We'll see how strong they are ! My wife has a friend who is a black witch. She couldn't even get up the stairs to a spirit filled church let alone get in. Why do I get the impression that demons don't like being around the Holy Spirit ? ROFL I've got a Christian friend who's had on two occasions possessed people stating they were going to attack him. They couldn't get within 4ft of him and just circled him as he told them they had no power over him because of his faith in Jesus.

I don't have a fallen angel and a demon as my power source. I have the spirit of the living God inside me, and so do all Christians who have faith in Jesus ! Big Grin

The order of authority is this :
God, Spirit filled believers as God's children, Angels, Non Christians, satan and his motley crew.

The devil is bottom of the pile. He can stir up trouble via non Christians but that's all. When did he manage to curse Jesus ? When did he manage to put Paul under spiritual warfare ? NEVER ! Its not in the Bible. He is only a created being, not the creator. He is outside the protection of God, out of his presence, and doesn't want to come back into it. Which is why avoiding spirit filled Christians who are the temple of the Holy Spirit is one of his priorities. As the old hymn says, in the name of Jesus demons have to flee - and they do for good reason !
The clearer I can see Jesus, the more confident I get.

I can't agree with you enough Andy. Sonflower, my spiritual warfare often amounts to praying "Your Kingdom Come" and "Jesus is Lord, healer and saviour in this place".

Reading Andy's post I was reminded of a friend of mine, Revd Roy Godwin, who has taught me much about 'positive' spiritual warfare. I have learnt much from him about 'blessing' as apposed to praying against the enemy. He has many incredible stories about what this has led to at the Christian Retreat Centre he runs with his wife in SW Wales. I have posted a link to him sharing some of the stories in the healing testimonies section. There's a second link to him speaking about the miraculous healings that he and his family experienced after a very serious head on car crash.

If you want to know more about blessing I heartily recommend his book "The Grace Outpouring" by Roy Godwin and Dave Roberts. It will bless you!

Did I not say I was a baby, baby Christian when this occurred?

Today I am not the same person I was back then, and thank God for that!

Thank You for grace Lord!

Sonflower, sorry if my post in anyway came across as critical. We need to encourage and build each other up with what we have in Christ.

I've done 'spiritual warfare' too, and its only recently that I've had to re-evaluate whether it really was Christ- like. Fear of satan and demons is something the church has taught - which has caused me problems in the past too. Now I can see that the real warfare is to preach the gospel, cast out demons and heal the sick. Trying to remove satan and 'territorial spirits' from planet earth won't work, 'cause it isn't God's time yet for them to be removed. Fear of satan should NEVER be a part of a believer's theology period. The more we get this message out there, the less the body of Christ will be deceived.

May God be with you and bless you in everything you do for Him !

The clearer I can see Jesus, the more confident I get.

I enjoy all the dialog in this forum,-just wish people "thanked" more because people need to be free to communicate even if an idea is not exactly fine tuned.

the END of Sonflower's post is not negative or fearful at all... and isn't the end generally considered to be a summary?
Hello! THE TITLE OF THIS PIECE IS JESUS came to sup with us AND BROUGHT MY CAT A BAG OF FOOD. I am an artist (a painter) and my husband is a great husband and business man. We have get to share Dr. Roger S@pp's HEALING message at a small group very Weds. eve. We are all seeing The Lord do fantastic healings in the midst of us. My art work is fairly diverse but I believe THE LORD has given me two specific bodies of work to create.
NUMBER ONE: I paint the Rock and Roll Icons of the 60's and 70's in humorous situations that poke playful fun at their idol status. I will not give my web site in this forum, because some people will not understand my message or method. For you art savvy people I will say there are hints of Goya and other artists: social COMMENTATORS. I highly recommend the film GOYA'S GHOST. His work condemned the heinous works within the Catholic church during his time. If you want to see my work, (AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!) google my name. k@ta bi11ups. Quite a few of famous actors and musicians and film makers collect this body of work. My favorite is Susan Sarandon because she stated in a magazine article that her greatest hero was Jesus Christ. GO Susan!

NUMBER TWO: My Masters Thesis work is entitled The Case for an Emotional Jesus in Painting. Most artists for over 2,000 years have concentrated on the Divinity of Christ but not his humanity. This body of work is ALSO considered highly controversial by SOME. The work emphasizes His emotions as He reacts to and interacts with contemporary American culture. This is not Biblical Illustration, but a new way of painting Christ for our time. If you have a "beef" with how I paint Christ, or any other subject matter please contact me directly and I may be able to shed some light on my mission and the historical precedent for work like mine.
Thanks!
